Company Switch

The power distribution systems of many facilities such as theaters, convention centers, arenas and auditoriums often require specialized panelboards for connection of portable electrical equipment. The electrical power for these temporary systems is fed by a specialized distribution panel, commonly known as a “company switch”.

The simplest switch has just the
basics for powering portable power distribution loads.
It consists of a Type 3R
enclosure, main circuit breaker, receptacles and
phase indicator lights.

Union Connector manufactures a range of standard Cam Boxes and custom Cam Outlet Boxes. These power distribution boxes are UL Listed with designs developed after years of building Cam disconnects. Cam boxes or Cam Outlet Boxes can be as simple as a wall mounted outlet box with a set of five Cam outlets or as sophisticated as a an outdoor rated multi-phase Emergency Feeder Panel for generator connection to critical building loads.
