Company Switch

The power distribution systems of many facilities such as theaters, convention centers, arenas and auditoriums often require specialized panelboards for connection of portable electrical equipment. The electrical power for these temporary systems is fed by a specialized distribution panel, commonly known as a “company switch”.

SafeCam® Connector System

In keeping with it’s tradition of developing practical, safe and economical products, Union Connector recently patented the SafeCam® connector system. This system provides the user with a standard cam outlet panel that cannot be energized unless all the outlets contain males plugged into them. Exposed cams will never be “hot”, The cams are now safe. Another innovative product developed by Union Connector.

Generator Tap Box and Boxes, Generator Connection Boxes and Generator Connection Panels are intended for use as a temporary service connection point between portable power units and the facility service entrance. When normal utility power is interrupted for long periods of time (natural disaster, utility system failure, etc.), tap boxes may become necessary to bring in portable generators to provide power or augment emergency generator sets.

Power distribution equipment for entertainment lighting is still the bulk of our product line – much of it custom designed and built for specific projects. But Union Connector now has the ability to fabricate specialty equipment for a variety of other industries as well. This includes custom metalworking, welding and machining.

Union Connector manufactures a variety of cable assemblies designed for entertainment lighting use. These assemblies are built using UL Listed Extra Hard Usage cable, as required by the NEC. Single conductor assemblies use Listed SC type cable, sized for the intended ampacity being used.
